Zoie Wood Selects SMC

Zoie Wood of Gobles High School has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to run cross country for Coach Zac Sartori and the Roadrunners. Wood will also compete in track and field for SMC.

Coach Sartori said, ""From the moment Zoie reached out and expressed interest to join our program I was very excited to meet her. She has an infectious positive attitude, and I am really looking forward to her joining the program and helping to build upon the success that we've strived to achieve over these past few years. Zoie Wood is going to make some big moves these next two years!"

Coach Marc Kline added, "Zoie is an amazing, high-character young lady! She is kind and has been a strong catalyst to build team unity, which has contributed to our success. After a lot of pestering on my part, Zoie finally came out for cross country her freshman year to run at the Portage Invitational. That made five runners for us…and what an important add to Gobles Cross Country. She always has a smile on her face and works hard to make sure everyone feels welcome. I don't think there are many things she chooses to do that aren't successful. From singing to academic work, racing, basketball, leading groups, making morning announcements, she can seemingly do it all."

Wood is the fourth member of SMC's 2025 Women's Cross Country recruiting class, joining Trinity Mortimore of Decatur, Emily King of Martin and Lillian Wolf of Hartford.

Student-athletes interested in competing on any of SMC's nine intercollegiate teams as a Roadrunner should complete the Recruiting Form at https://smcroadrunners.com/landing/index
