Women's XC Wins MCCAA West Championship

SMC Women's Cross Country won the 2025 MCCAA Western Conference Championship by the narrowest possible margin. On Friday afternoon at Spruce Ridge Golf Club in Dowagiac, the Roadrunners finished with a score of 46 points, ahead of Lansing with 47 and GRCC with 48. A tremendous team effort on a hot day - the Roadrunners really gave it their all and came away with the trophy.

 

Sophomore Jenny Hernandez-Medina finished 4th, freshman Lainey Yearling was 6th and sophomore Amelia Hurst was 10th. But the win wouldn't have been possible without freshman Zoie Wood motoring in 13th and freshman Lillian Wood giving everything she had to finish 17th to complete the scoring.

Some hardware in hand, the Roadrunners next race at the Bethel University Invitational in South Bend on October 10.
