Ava Longstreet to Transfer to SMC for Volleyball
Outside hitter Ava Longstreet has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play volleyball for Head Coach Jenny Nate and the Roadrunners during the 2026-2027 season.
A graduate of Coldwater High School, Longstreet played in all 32 matches (starting two) during her freshman year for the Kellogg Community College Bruins. In 99 sets, she logged 174 kills, 68 digs and 43 blocks.
Coach Nate said, "Ava Longstreet is a dynamic six-rotation player who was an intense opponent against us this past year when we battled against Kellogg, and we are looking forward to adding such a fierce athlete and dominant player to our fall roster. Ava will bring a mix of skill, knowledge, and college-level playing experience to our team and program. She comes from a strong high school program at Coldwater as well as a high-level team at Pineapple Volleyball Club. During high school, Ava was First Team All Conference (2024), MVP (2024), Outstanding Offensive Player (2024), District Champions (2024), Team Academic All State (2024), earned the most blocks (2023), was on the All Area Volleyball Team (2023), All Conference Honorable Mention (2023), Most Improved Award (2023), and was Team Academic All State (2022 and 2023). We are thrilled to anticipate Ava stepping onto the court as a Roadrunner this coming fall."
Coldwater Varsity Coach Kelsey Closson added, "Ava is one of the hardest-working athletes I've had the privilege to coach. She was always eager to learn, never afraid to ask questions, and constantly striving to be her best. I am excited for her and the impact she will bring at SMC."
Longstreet joins Charlotte Knox of South Haven, Nyla Hover and Maddie Zache of Niles, and Jordin Heiman of Cassopolis as new signees in the 2026-2027 SMC Volleyball lineup.
