SMC Volleyball Takes 2nd at Districts
SMC Volleyball had a great run at the district tournament tournament this weekend, finishing 2nd overall after defeating Mott in the semifinal 17-25, 25-10, 25-22, 25-11 and then falling in the championship to GRCC 20-25, 14-25, 15-25. "I am beyond proud of our team and staff; our team made an incredible run and received various well-deserved accolades including a conference championship, third in the MCCAA, and second in the District B Tournament," shared Head Coach Jenny Nate. "These ladies worked as hard on the final day of the season as they did on day one in August. They put in the work, focused on getting better every day, faced challenges, wins, losses, and left it all on the court today. Every year, our teams continue to build the legacy of SMC Volleyball, and I am grateful for each and every one of them for their dedication, grit, and determination. They are great teammates and scholars as well, and that focus and discipline transfers from the classroom to the court. We are thankful for our sophomores and look forward to our freshmen continuing the legacy next season." The Roadrunners finished the season 29-9 and 11-1 in the conference.
