SMC Volleyball Wins Out on Districts Day 1
The Southwestern Michigan College Volleyball Team went 2-0 on day one of the Great Lakes District Championship defeating Macomb 25-19, 21-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12 and then sweeping North Central 25-21, 25-14, 25-18 to earn their way into the Friday's semifinal. "We were prepared mentally and physically for both of these matches," said Head Coach Jenny Nate. "I was pleased with the way we stayed calm and focused on our goals and point runs today. We had balanced scoring across the board, great defense, and our block was huge which shutdown the top hitters on both opposing teams. This momentum needs to carry into our match against GRCC on Friday as our full confidence is needed for this battle."
