VB Sweeps Lansing to Grab Share of Conference Crown
The Southwestern Michigan College Volleyball Team swept Lansing at home Tuesday night, remaining in first place in the conference and clinching at least a share of the Western Conference title. "We worked incredibly hard preparing for this match, and we came out and executed in every aspect of the game," shared Head Coach Jenny Nate. "We knew would possibly be missing one or two starters due to sprained ankles, and luckily, Talan (Hiemstra) was cleared, but Maggie (Arney) needs a few more days to recover. So, we ralled as a team at practice and prepared subs to step in and execute with a goal of playing the same as we always do, staying confident at all times, and taking good care of teammates. We knew if we just play our game, stay calm, and focus on our goals, that we could sweep them. This was a great win, but we are already studying film on Kellogg to prepare to take them on with the same determination and aggressive play as we had tonight."
The Roadrunners are now 24-6 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
