SMC Sweeps Conference Awards for 3rd Time in 4 Weeks

The SMC Volleyball Team racked up two more Western Conference awards this week on the strength of their win over the Muskegon Jayhawks in the home opener on September 9. 

Freshman setter and outside hitter Meah Evans was named Offensive Player of the Week for her first such honor. Sophomore libero Carlie Ritchie won Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this young season, having earned that honor in Week 2. Five different Roadrunners have won conference awards already this year and the team has swept Week 1, Week 2 and now, Week 4; the Roadrunners did not play during Week 3. 

SMC (8-3) visits Marian Ancilla College (6-4) tonight as both teams open conference play.
