Roadrunners Sweep Week 1 Conference Awards

SMC's 4-2 start at the Opening Weekend Tournament got some attention from the MCCAA. 

The Roadrunners swept the Week 1 MCCAA Western Conference awards as sophomore Amie Schutz won Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore Carlie Ritchie was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Schutz, a 2023 graduate from Valparaiso High School and transfer from Purdue Northwest, had 80 kills, 4.0 kills per set, 10 aces and 68 digs over the weekend. Ritchie, from Delton Kellogg High School in Delton, Michigan, logged 93 digs for 4.65 digs per set.

SMC hosts the Kalamazoo College Hornets in a scrimmage on Tuesday night, then travels to Ohio for four matches on Friday and Saturday at the Owens Community College Sonny Lewis Classic as the 2025 non-conference schedule continues.
