Women Hoopers Set Record in Home Blowout
SMC Women's Basketball set a new single game scoring record with 114 in thisSaturday's home victory over North Central Michigan, eclipsing the previous mark set on 11/21/23 vs. Great Lakes Christian (111-49).
The Roadrunners were just too much all day for the Timberwolves, running out to a 19-0 lead before the visitors got on the board with 5:42 left in Q1. SMC led by 19 after Q1, 29 at the half, 34 after Q3, with the final margin being 53. SMC had four players in double figures, led by sophomore Rayvan rush with 30 points, 6 steals and 8 rebounds; sophomore Kaitlynn Williams-Clark with 25 points, 6 steals and 4 assists; sophomore Kayla Johnson with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 steals; and freshman Dee Robinson with 20 points and 2 assists.
SMC, with a record of 6-7, now locks in on the MCCAA Western Conference schedule, which begins next Saturday as the Marian Ancilla Chargers visit 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse.
