Women's Hoopers Split the Week
SMC Women's Basketball won one and lost one last week for the final games of the 2025 calendar year.
On Thursday at home, the Roadrunners defeated the South Suburban Bulldogs, 59-48. SMC ran out to a 10-2 lead to start the game and kept it up through Q1. The Roadrunners were up 27-21 at the half, but let South Suburban take back the lead for a few minutes in Q3, before recovering to move ahead by the end of the period and pushing the final margin to 11. Freshman Dee Robinson led all scorers with 17 points and was just one rebound short of a double-double. Sophomore Kayla Johnson added 12 off the bench and Katlynn Williams-Clark put in 10.
The road trip to Schoolcraft was a different story, as the Oscelots took a 39-25 lead into the locker room and never looked back, defeating the Roadrunners 81-54. SMC shot just 29% from the field and 12% from deep (2 of 17), while committing 19 turnovers. Sophomore Rayvan Rush led all scorers with 20 and freshman Trinity Dale added 16 in the loss.
SMC goes into the holiday break with a 5-7 record, next hosting the North Central Michigan Timberwolves on January 3, 2026.
