WBB Goes 1-1 This Week

SMC Women's Basketball went 1-1 this week with a road win and a home loss. 

On Wednesday, SMC defeated the Prairie State Pioneers on the road, 76-55, to improve their record to 1-2 on the young season. Sophomore guard Rayvan Rush played 37 minutes and let the team with 25 points on 10 of 14 from the field. She also grabbed eight rebounds. Freshman Diavian Robinson was 8 of 14 for 16 points off the bench, while freshmen Cass Smith and Q Summers each poured in 11. 

On Saturday at home, the team was defeated by the visiting Jackson Jets, 84-57. The Roadrunners led by as many as 16 in the second quarter, but after a timeout it was all Jackson, who went up 8 by at the half and 20 by the end of the third quarter.

SMC's record is 1-3 on the season and next plays at Harry S. Truman College Saturday, November 15 at 1pm Central.
