Joseph Jones Signs with SMC for Basketball
Joseph Jones of Crete-Monee High School in Illinois has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent and will continue his education and basketball career this fall.
SMC Head Coach Rodell Davis said, "We're excited to welcome Joe to the SMC family. He is a high-character young man who competes at a high level both in the classroom and on the court. Joe averaged a double-double this past season and earned All-State honors, highlighting his impact and consistency. Defensively, he has the ability to be a force in the post and consistently finishes possessions with strong rebounding. Offensively, he does a great job using angles to score in the paint and has the ability to stretch the floor out to the three-point line."
Jones joins Keithan Gilmore of West Bloomfield, Brayden Favors of Niles, Tyrese Moody and Brieland Watkins of Grand Rapids and Kenaz Jackson, Jr. and Myair Thompson, both of Kankakee, Illinois, as new players on the 2026-2027 SMC Men's Basketball squad.
