Keithan Gilmore Will Transfer to SMC for Basketball
Keithan Gilmore of West Bloomfield High School has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent and will transfer to SMC to continue his education and basketball career this fall.
Gilmore earned MCCAA Eastern Conference Honorable Mention status with the Macomb Monarchs, who finished 10-4 in conference and 17-13 overall last season. He played in 27 games, starting 23, and averaged 7.1 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and 1.4 assists per game. Gilmore shot 46.2% from the field, 37.5% from three-point range and 66.7% from the free throw line in 2025-2026.
SMC Head Coach Rodell Davis said, "Keithan is a transfer student who has competed at a high level at his previous institution, earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. He brings valuable experience along with a strong leadership presence that will positively impact our locker room. On the court, he is a physical, versatile wing who excels at attacking the basket and finishing through contact. Defensively, he uses his length and athleticism to disrupt opponents and has the ability to be a stopper for us. He also possesses a high basketball IQ and consistently plays the game the right way."
Gilmore joins Brayden Favors of Niles, Tyrese Moody and Brieland Watkins of Grand Rapids and Kenaz Jackson, Jr. and Myair Thompson, both of Kankakee, Illinois, as new players on the 2026-2027 SMC Men's Basketball squad.
