Men's Cagers' Struggles Continue
SMC Men's Basketball hit a rough patch last week, losing three Western Conference games and falling out of the Great Lakes District Tournament field with one game left.
Last Saturday at KVCC, the Roadrunners were defeated, 95-77. Freshman Johvohn Ratliff led SMC with 18 points, while sophomore Davion Goins and freshman Deuce Weston each added 16.
At home on Wednesday, SMC battled Lansing and forced OT against the Stars at home, but fell short with a score of 82-72. Ratfliff shot 9 of 15 for 27 points, Goins double-doubled with 18 points and 12 boards, and Weston added 10.
Then on the road at Glen Oaks Saturday, were defeated 68-59 by the Vikings. The same three Roadrunners led the team: Goins had 23, Weston 15 and Ratliff 13.
SMC is now 11-16 overall and 4-9 in the Western Conference. The last game of the 2025-26 season is this Tuesday at home vs. the LMC Red Hawks.
