Men's Cagers Split the Week Again
Southwestern Michigan College Men's Basketball continued the alternating pattern of the season so far with a split this past week.
On Tuesday, the team traveled to Elgin Community College in Illinois and was defeated 100-83 by the Spartans, who got hot from deep and pulled away early. SMC was led by freshman Jovohn Ratliff with 20 points, sophomore Davion Goins with 14 and freshmen Deuce Weston and Jaylen Ingram, both with 13.
On Friday, the Roadrunners beat the visiting Kuyper JV Cougars in the 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse 96-66 on a double-double by sophomore Davion Goins (27 points, 10 rebounds). Ratliff and sophomore Anthony Brady each dropped 17 points and sophomore guard and Western Conference Player of the Week Damontae May shot 75% from the field for 13 points.
Next up, a trip north to Muskegon to battle the Jayhawks on Saturday, November 22.
