Men's Basketball Defeats Owens CC

SMC earned a little payback from last season's loss at Owens Community College by slowing down the Express for a 65-55 victory in the 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse on Wednesday, December 20. The Roadrunners were up 14 at the half and held it around there for most of the second half, sending Owens back to that state down south with coal in their stockings.

 

Sophomore Mari Nichols led SMC with 18 points and shooting 54% from the field and 38% on 3-pointers. Sophomore Mikel Forrest added 17 off the bench, going 3-for-7 (43%) from behind the arc. 

 

SMC now enters the holiday break at 8-4 and will host the #5-ranked South Suburban Bulldogs at 5pm on January 3, 2024.
